Inn at Little Washington Has a New "Nest"

We were recently invited to The Inn at Little Washington's special event to unveil their newest guest cottage, The Cardinal’s Nest, right here on Main Street and across the street from our destination shop & gallery, R.H. Ballard Shop & Gallery.

Named in tribute to the first Relais & Chateaux property in France, “La Cardinale,” The Cardinal’s Nest is a sweet and charming freestanding cottage nestled in a private garden in the center of our historic village. We loved the original historic and charming little building that once graced the town square, and we knew several folks who actually rented the small residence over the years. The home hosted Santa and his Elves during "Christmas in Little Washington", and was often decorated on the exterior (by moi) for town events. Yes, it was tiny, but comfortable living for one person.

The little structure has now expanded into a larger, 2 story building with many luxury amenities (do not miss the Spa Bathrooms and Soaking Tubs).

Having a front seat to this construction project, Robert and I watched a year-long resurrection of the original structure that dates way back to the 1700s.

The "Nest" now features two spacious bedrooms, two luxurious baths with soaking tubs, a vaulted ceiling living room featuring an ancient stone fireplace preserved from the original structure.

The Inn is offering an “Early Bird Gets The Worm” package, a limited-edition experience including a two nights stay with a special introductory rate which includes dinner in both the Inn’s Michelin 3-Star dining room and Patty O’s Café.

A wonderful, cozy retreat awaits. And so close to our own destination Shop & Gallery, just a few steps away. You are sure to have an incredible and unique experience in our beloved town.
